Hey! I'm Katherine Carrillo, the owner and photographer behind Coastal Image Co. My photography style can be best described as timeless, joyful, and full of light. I want your photos to transport you back to that day, even long after it has passed.

I first found my love for photography when I was a little girl and my dad gave me his old camcorder. I loved documenting everything and capturing life as it was unfolding.

When I became a senior in high school, it was time to take senior portraits. At that point in my life, when I thought about having to get photos taken I thought about going to a cold, dingy studio with weird lights and a less-than-enthused photographer behind a tripod - not exactly an experience I was stoked on having.

Then, through Facebook, I found a photographer who did on-location sessions and I thought to myself “this is way more my style!” We met at Treaty Oak Park one weekend, it was gorgeous outside. She and I had so much fun together, she made me feel so at ease and relaxed in front of the camera. When I got my photos back, I was amazed at how she was able to photograph me in a way that truly captured who I am and made me feel beautiful. I knew in that moment that this was something I wanted to do for other people too.

I started learning everything I could about photography and got my hands on a DSLR as soon as I could. I started taking photos of any and everyone that would let me and I volunteered to help other photographers on weddings and shoots to soak up as much information as possible. Since launching my own business, I have been blessed with truly the most amazing clients.

Throughout the past 12 years, I have learned so much and have been able to really develop my style as a photographer. I am proud to produce consistent, timeless, and beautiful images for families while providing them with a fun and relaxed experience and memories to cherish forever.
